Please enjoy jwz mixtape 238.
It's been a little while since the last one. Not as long as the previous gap, but still, my rate of discovery has noticeably slowed in the last year....

I think New Wave Heartache by Web Rumours could be your kinda thing:

Thanks for these, I've really enjoyed them over the years. You've introduced me to so much good music and I appreciate it.
Thanks from me too. My musical tastes don't totally line up with yours and sometimes the first few songs I'll think are clearly good for what they are but aren't my thing, and then comes the best song I've heard in a month and I'm always glad I kept listening.
There was a music video that I think you posted about 10-15 years ago, and I can't remember the title or artist.
It was set in daytime at the outdoor pool of some mansion, where 6-10 young adults were partying, mostly in groups of 2 or 3. The video was a sort of mystery like "Look at this snapshot. Why is __ happening?" and it would zoom in to each group of people, and do a slomo of the action and describe what's happening, to reveal the mysteries by the end of the video. It took place over the space of like 10 seconds or something in real time.
Anyone have any idea what the video was? My searches are coming up dry.
Placebo, Too Many Friends. The voiceover is Bret Easton Ellis.
Amazing! Thank you!
