BART HO

I am shocked to learn that, after 50 years, this is the first time that an HO scale BART train has been available. $749!

This complete train set features two powered "A" cab cars, and two unpowered "B" middle cars, which can operate on any conventional HO scale track (18" curve radius required, 22" radius preferred). This is the DCC/Sound version of the train, which uses DCC track and features sound effects and smells recorded from real BART trains. Full underbody detail, including accurate electrical systems, conduits, and equipment boxes.

Well at least BART uses a standardized gauge somewhere.

The challenging part is building an HO gauge Oakland wye in your basement.

"...and smells..." Did you think we would not check?

Now I want to know a) who had the task of collecting the smell of decaying vinyl and decaying other passengers, b) what that chemical profile is like and c) how it's distributed by the model.

    Also, ew.

All the nitty gritty. Bring mass transit to your home layout.

There was a model available to order from Walthers back in 1977.   Probably not a great one, but this one from Rapido isn’t the very first.
