The physical bell is a nice touch, but not keeping the curved eInk screen is a deal-breaker: And it looks like the front OLED panel is being used as a very expensive indicator light - no mention of what it's intended for, but 80% of it's hidden under the dial in the pics.
"Deal breaker"? Come on! Certainly the curved screen was cooler, though.
I hate talking on the phone with the fire of a thousand suns, and yet I ordered one -- I support the arts! I'll let you know what it's like. Realistically, it is probably destined to sit on the shelf next to my bluetooth Starfleet Communicator and various manual typewriters.
I do love the colour options, they start out sounding like a boring paint catalogue, 'white', 'beige', 'sea foam', and then 'ATOMIC HOTLINE RED', and finally, 'black'.
When you put it that way, there's only one option really.
I am so getting one of these. I would just like to wait to see some kind of rudimentary instruction manual or a video of it being used. My only concern right now is I am not sure how one would dial the number 1 as there is no space between the hole for 1 and the limiter bar. Am I dense and missing how one would use it? I know it has been a while since I last dialed rotary, but I didn't think it was that long.
The dial is probably one of those where the limiter bar can rotate one or two notches clockwise when your finger hits it. That extra notch or two allows the dial to rotate greater than 360 degrees.
I strongly consider getting one as well (considering my ancient phone will be a paperweight once they turn off 2G), but yeah some more details would be nice. I wonder how loud that ringer bell is, and if you can mute it etc.
My kid has been pestering me for a new cell phone since approximately 10 minutes after she received her first cell phone, and this is scheduled to ship just in time for her birthday. Synergy!

I feel like Avocado is missing from those choices.
Here's a USB keyboard that is a teletype key.

That is fantastic.

Confirmed! (This one pre-moves though):

Atomic Hotline Red? Ordered.
This is fantastic. I've been hoping she would sell it as a kit ever since you first pointed to it.

... though the fact that the 9 is missing the "WXYZ" text makes my noodle ache. I hope that's fixed in the final production dials.

This means I don't have to pay the Touch-Tone service fee on my cell phone plan, right?
It’s funny how they state
