I just hope they stop cutting away more and more of my tree. Come on guys, the birds are the only thing I have left.

I am definitely intimidated by these things, and I'm not even anyone's accomplice.
Somebody’s been watching Fargo before having to come up with a product name
Looks like you have one of the Doomed Ficuses out front of your place? Alas.
Why are they doomed?
Well, so, at some point in the misty past SF transferred responsibility for maintaining street trees to the property owners. That didn't work out so great. So recently (2016?) SFDPW took responsibility back, and during an arboreal survey realized that after like twennyears of landlords ignoring them, the ficuses in particular are badly overgrown and structurally unsound.
There's a good SFDPW page about it, actually.
Nice page! Speaking of [sub]urban forestry, my favorite tree in my front yard (a has a "codominant stem which apparently will eventually doom the tree at some point but so far I haven't been told it's too dangerous to keep when I have my trees trimmed out.
I regret to inform you, those weren't real birds. There have not been real birds in a long time.
