The Schadenfreude Economy

Seriously though, how much popcorn.gif did you need just to get through that article about Camp White Guilt or White Bread or whatever at Burning Man getting vandalized? It's so adorable when the 0.1% feel like they're being taken advantage of by the 0.01%!

I don't understand why they were targeted. Apparently the camp was started by Paul fucking Oakenfold and the son of a Russian gangster, and what exemplifies the Burning Man ethos of arena trance and half-baked Trustafarian Socialism more than that? I assume miniature giraffes were provided to all of the glampers as soon as they got off the helicopter.

I sure hope there's a TED talk about this.

DNA Lounge: Wherein I have captured the experience of bartending at Bootie through the medium of "GIF".

Just imagine this, but with Don't Stop Believin' playing as well:

Next Level Snarkatron

beargenwerth: "there's a live feed of a town square on yt with 1400+ WATCHING NOBODY KNOWS WHY THEYRE HERE THIS IS THE CHAT"

Jackson Hole Town Square feed.

I'm pretty sure the DNA video webcasts have never hit this many viewers, but it does seem exactly as pointless and off topic as when we used to have an IRC channel.

Scene missing! A video that used to be embedded in this post has disappeared. If you know of a copy of this video that is still accessible, please mail me so that I can update the link.

Low Red Moon

I'm on my bike, waiting for the light to change. To my right, a 30ish homeless man with a Guy Fawkes beard is standing on the sidewalk sorting through his pile of suspiciously moist fashion magazines. He is facing away from me, legs straight, bent at the waist, his pants drooping to just below his bare ass cheeks revealing a lunar landscape of puckered, angry red pimples on a cold, gray backdrop.

I tear my eyes away and look forward. The traffic light is still red.

I look right. Angry red moon.

Forward. Red. Right. Red.
Forward. Red. Right. Red.
