Gold teeth snatched from man's mouth during Financial District robbery

When officers arrived, they learned a man was approached from behind by two other men. One of the two suspects then punched the victim in the face, knocking him to the ground, police said.

Both suspects kicked the victim several times. One of the suspects took the victim's gold teeth while another took the victim's cellphone. Aside from missing teeth, the victim also suffered a swollen eye and abrasions to the knee. He was taken to a hospital with injuries that are not considered life-threatening, police said.

  1. The stories on this say teeth but it seems like it had to have been a grill. Because how likely is it that a pair of muggers happen to have a dental elevator and forceps handy.

It doesn't say they extracted them well, nor correctly. But a grill is more believable.

It's not like they make a whole tooth made of gold and implant it into your jawbone. It's just a crown. I've had one of those pop off eating chicken. You might be able to pry one of those suckers off with your fingers.
