If they had a time machine, men would be more likely than women to travel to pre-World War II Europe and kill Hitler, according to a recently published study. [...]
Participants were asked 20 questions about moral dilemmas such as decisions about murder, torture, lying, abortion and conducting research on animals.
The study examined two philosophical principles that relate to ethics, deontology and utilitarianism. According to the former, the morality of an action depends on its consistency with a moral norm. Utilitarianism, meanwhile, holds the morality of an action maximizes utility -- in other words, that it is best for the greatest number of people.
Well then.
I thought that everybody killed hitler on their first trip.
There's no natural law against time travel. It's just that in every timeline where it's invented, _eventually_ someone goes back and changes history in a way that prevents its invention.
I burn good probabilities to maintain a Schroedinger's Cat superposition where this cosmos is untouched by time travellers. There are others where it happens, but the quanta are stacked so that the word 'rule' is a good shorthand for: 'all those other worlds are yours but attempt no hitlercides here'.
Nice pic, but 4256px × 2832px ? A bit of an overkill, especially for cell.
Well, I do suppose that Danger 5 had 3 men and 2 women, and that one of those women ended up being a severed head, so the math checks out.
...and as always, KILL HITLER!!!
Yeah but if you travel back in time you're introducing matter into a timestream that wasn't there previously (unless you willed have thoughten of that alreadyen) in which case, Hitler's matter mighten substituted for every individual who willed haven travellened back in time to kill Hitler. Who was a man. Obviously.
Dude, if I had a time machine, killing Hitler would be so far down my to-do list, it's not even worth mentioning.
Do you want paradoxes? Cuz that's how you get paradoxes.
Oh, that pic is from The Producers, isn't it? If you haven't seen Danger 5, you might try an episode or two.
I loved the first promo video they did, but I didn't make it through the first "season". It lost me. Same thing with Iron Sky: good trailer, but...
