Never have I smelled so much weed at Rickshaw. This was a Fillmore level of weed.

Since I couldn't find anybody who wanted to go to Nantes to see Royal De Luxe with me, I guess Yelle will have to do.

I've half-followed Yelle ever since she sang Cooler Couleur with the Crockers. I'd very much like to see her live some day... How was her show?

Yelle was in Austin for SXSW? Their website says "DJ SET" for March 14 and 15. What does that mean?

Not too long ago, I was sharing videos with a friend from France. We were enjoying a beautiful afternoon outside a coffee shop, on a deck overlooking the countryside. Lucas was a nice guy, quiet, somewhat proper. We had become friends in the few weeks of his visit. His girlfriend Adrien was there, too, hanging out with us. Adrien and I bonded instantly because Lucas is such a good straight man. Adrien had a delicious love for teasing and being teased.

We had similar music tastes, and at some point I said "Oh! Have you heard of Yelle?" He had. He liked them. We watched "Safari Disco Club" for a few minutes, and then "85A" came on, a song presumably about her apartment. I asked him what she was saying. He paused, "Eh," and glanced briefly at Adrien. I waited patiently for a few seconds while he stared at the screen. Adrien suppressed a smirk.

"Eh, she is very happy with her body..." He was obviously uncomfortable, a little pale, and I began to suspect Yelle is a crude girl. "She is very sensitive, when people put their hands on her, eh, chest." He glanced at Adrien, to see her laser a warning glance at him. He cringed. I realize that Adrien's breasts are much larger than Yelle's sweet 85A.

I figured I should let him off the hook, but like a good fisherman, I let him run for a while before I reel him in. So I looked at him expectantly, forcing him to keep going. "Eh, she does not want to be, eh, Pamela Anderson. Unnatural." He turned bright red as he said this, and Adrien and I both burst out laughing at the same time.

    I miss them.
