Your hotlink protection has broken google-reader (and possibly other on-line reader). Is this by design or an accident?
Google Reader borked something recently, but not all the time and not for everybody. So far, every person I've asked to tell me the precise URL that is being sent as the referrer on a page where the hotlinking image is showing up has failed to do so. Maybe you will be the exception?

The referrer address now was " http://www.google.com/reader/view/?tab=yy" but since it is working correctly my guess is that this information is not that useful. :-)
I think it might be something with Google Chrome Canary (18.0.974.0 - and old version, probably) and Google Reader. I kept the latest articles unread in Google Chrome (articles filled with hairy balls).
Log in to Google Reader in Firefox (8.0), no hairy balls. This all on OSX 10.7.2
