Class Actress

Much better show than at SXSW. Perhaps the smoke helped.

Dear music video directors:

Stop desaturating your blue channel to make it look like you shot on Super-8. Nobody is fooled. It is annoying. It is almost as annoying as teal and orange.

I have also seriously had enough of the "jiggle the registration of the RGB layers so that everything gets bleeding color vapor trails" effect. What the hell is that supposed to be, anyway? No device has ever done that!

These are this year's "drum machine hand-clap" of video production, and will age as poorly.

Toothless man arrested for eating raw meat.

Shover was arrested at Taser point without any further issues, according to police.

A Carlisle man faces felony charges after police said he was seen eating raw meat from off of the shelf of the Carlisle Walmart Monday afternoon.

Carlisle police said an employee saw Scott T. Shover, 53, opening packages of raw ground beef and raw stew beef in the store and eating some of it at 2:40 p.m. Shover then placed the opened packages back on the shelf to be sold and never paid for them, according to police.

The total loss of meat was valued at $24.53, police said.

A loss prevention officer and a store manager followed Shover outside and pointed him out to an officer who happened to be in the parking lot at the same time, helping to move trucks along, police said.

Shover was arrested at Taser point without any further issues, according to police.

He was taken to Cumberland County Prison on retail theft charges, police said. Shover's record shows that he has four previous retail theft convictions. Since he is a repeat offender, this most recent theft becomes a felony offense, police said.

Bodies hanging from bridge in Mexico are warning to social media users

Google and Facebook remind you that no one has any legitimate reason to hide their real name online.

Social media users who denounce drug cartel activities along the Mexican border received a brutal warning this week: two mangled bodies hanging like cuts of meat from a pedestrian bridge.

A woman was hogtied and disemboweled, her intestines protruding from three deep cuts on her abdomen. Attackers left her topless, dangling by her feet and hands from a bridge in the border city of Nuevo Laredo. A bloodied man next to her was hanging by his hands, his right shoulder severed so deeply the bone was visible.

Signs left near the bodies declared the pair, both apparently in their early 20s, were killed for posting denouncements of drug cartel activities on a social network.

"This is going to happen to all of those posting funny things on the Internet," one sign said. "You better (expletive) pay attention. I'm about to get you."

Taxis cause prostitution, probably. Seems legit.

How prostitution and alcohol make Uber better

In other words: The parts of San Francisco that have the most prostitution, alcohol, theft, and burglary also have the most Uber rides!

Of course this isn't in any way causal. I don't think our Uber riders are causing more prostitution. Right guys?

Wet Pixels

I thought I had posted about this device before, but I can't find it now. An "on" pixel is a single drop of water. It's doing bottom-to-top raster scanning with drips, scrolling provided by gravity.
