Not related to this post in particular, but it looks like the display code for the right-hand column changed in the last week or two?
In particular, the items under "Recent Posts" and "Recent Comments" are now getting truncated at the right margin, instead of wrapping around (which is what I remember them doing, just a few weeks ago?)
Seen on FireFox 4.0.1 (on Fedora 14 x86-64), FireFox 5.0.1 (on OSX 10.6.8). On Safari 5.1 (on 10.6.8), they are truncated but ellipses are inserted.
Anyway. I personally preferred the old way (since it's not a very wide column, truncating it tends to leave recent comment notes like "some really long name on...." which isn't horribly useful. *shrug*
I like the way he's clearly batshit insane, and rather than sitting on the floor examining his hands going "dude, like ... wow... gravity is cold" he tried to draw stuff and string words together.
There's a whole series of $generic_star_trek_ripoff scifi in this somewhere :)
huh.. like a slightly more up-to-date achilles rizzoli. thanks for that.
I'd say more of a Gene Ray who prefers to draw instead of type?
maybe... if you go look at all the stuff there on flickr there's some sex-related OCD stuff, reminiscent of rizzoli's issues with the vajayjay.

I did that on purpose. The subjects are often long, and I like it better this way.
I very much support this change

Some of this reminds me of the "map of the universe" from Time Bandits.
as an aside i like the insta-preview for comments.
