   This is unspeakably awesome! Thanks for the link. I'm a big nerd for HPL.

   What's funny to me is that the basic Lovecraftian premise that the universe wasn't made to be comprehended by the human brain is more credible today than ever.

   So this is basically a hobbyist fan-flic made by "H.P. Lovecraft Historical Society"? It looks way to awesome for that!

     I don't think it counts as "fan fic" when it's actually an adaptation of the original story. That's just "low budget adaptation".

     But yes, it's made by a bunch of gamers whose hobby of making fake artifacts for their Cthulhu role-playing campaign got way, way out of hand. The making-of on the Call of Cthulhu DVD is pretty amazing. They did the whole thing in someone's back yard over a period of years.

     And it's really, really well done. It feels so much like an authentic silent film. There were only a couple of scenes where something was very subtly off enough that I stopped buying it.
