I dunno, from an aesthetic point of view I've always disliked hard shell space suits. As a kid in the 60s my space picture books were full of paintings of astronauts exploring the moon in suits like giant kegs and barrels with flexi-tube arms sticking out. It discouraged me, they looked fat and ungainly. The real moon suits were much better, thick and inflexible as they were.
