In the first few minutes, I thought to myself, "Man. David Blaine is a terrible public speaker." A little later I corrected myself and thought "Maybe he did suffer some hypoxia related brain damage."
Then he said "I realized that my real competition was the beaver." I laughed, but I no longer knew what to think about him. He manages to come across as a pretty down to earth lunatic with a death wish.
I'm not sure if it was a good idea to mention the ways in which he considered faking holding his breath, either. Shouldn't he keep the world of magic and the world of endurance records completely separate?
Not if he's trying to emphasize the point that he DIDN'T cheat. And, not if he's trying to emphasize that actually holding his breath is more difficult and strange than all the weird things he did trying to cheat. He didn't actually conflate cheating with getting the record.

I could do that, I just don't want to.
I think that was Blaine's point.
I have done that, but I don't need to show off potato bus trampoline.
This really impressed me. I'm glad you posted it.
Strange tearing up right at the end.

So, in a word, "No."
