Now, take a look at these pictures. Here are the CEOs of Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, AIG and the Lehman Brothers. I know the first thing that jumps out about these faces is that they all happen to be white, and they all happen to be responsible for stealing. But what you have to understand is that these whites are a product of a society that made them that way. It was the neighborhoods and the schools they went to: Harvard, Yale, the Wharton School of Business. They never learned the value of doing real, actual work and the first step to fixing that is better role models, so kids growing up white today don't think the only way out of Westchester is corporate crime. Or a government handout or sailing. So I get it, the temptation is to look at McCain and vote against him because you don't see an individual, you just see another typical welfare whitey.
And it's true, he's spent his entire life shuffling from one low-paying government job to another. Well, except those years he spent in prison. Typical! And between you and me, he's not very articulate. Oh, he may have some street smarts, but he's not what you call an educated man. He freely admits he's ignorant about the economy. And apparently the only thing his white running mate knows how to do is crank out one baby after another. And now of course, her teenage daughter is pregnant out of wedlock. Because she learns it at home! But that doesn't mean we should assume all white people are like that, just because so many of them are.

Playing with noun sets is always fun.
Except that Fannie Mae was run into the ground by a guy who had to resign a few years ago, and he was not entirely white.
Which I supposed makes me an anal-retentive obsessive-compulsive nit picker since that's really not the point of the joke.
Also a racist, somehow.
Well, as a resident of the Bay Area, I can safely and smugly say that nitpicking any attacks on Republicans is absolutely racist.
Some day Bill Maher will add *something* to public discourse... I hope.
Bill Maher will be remembered for getting fired for saying that suicide bombers are either courageous or brave; I can't remember which. I don't know whether it really cost him anything in the long run, but I'm sure not saying suicide bombers are brave or courageous until I get a chance to look up how robots translate those words into other languages, which will take some time.
Truth is necessary for finding solutions. This is as true in geology and physics as it is in biology, or finance.
Did you know that before the recent stock market difficulties, United Airlines was sold by robots reading the news? Robots representing 25% of trading volume on the NYSE in August?
Isn't that a little high? Goodness knows how high it is on the NASDAQ.
What if we capped allowable robot trades at 10% of volume, and sold negotiable permits allowing more robot volume to the robot owners?
Is 10% anywhere near the ballpark of the optimum?
These robots aren't exactly evil, but they have proven that they aren't smart enough to read a dateline. They need to be penned in for now.
STRSPN RACIST AGAINST ROBOTS
As if you were worried that they might not outlast me? Their brochures are glossier than mine. I don't even have brochures. You can rest assured that long after I'm dust and fading memories, robot boots will grind against my grave. And I wouldn't have it any other way. :D
