I fell behind and did this one kind of at the last minute, but I think it flows pretty well. Let's see, what can I tell you about these tracks... I guess I don't know a lot of trivia about this one. Oxygiene 23 was Die Warzau with Jane Jensen. Stripmall Architecture is the new band from Rebecca and Ryan of Halou. I saw them last week and they were great. The CD is in a cool package, too. They always do great packaging.
I think it flows really well, actually. One of my favorites so far. There's something to time pressure and spontaneity.
Did you use that LCD Soundsystem track before? I really like it, but I don't own it, and I can't for the life of me recall where I heard it - I thought maybe it turned up on one of Ellis' mixes but it ain't there.
Also, the Minipop track sounds distinctly like The Killers (which in my mind is a good thing, but YMMV).
He used it in mixtape 043. I think it was briefly in 044, then it wasn't.
It took a couple of listens, but it really grew on me.
Every time I throw on one of your mixtapes, there's something worth hearing that I hadn't encountered before. Thank you.
Some trivia about the Ascii.Disko cover of "I Wanna Be Your Dog:"
When you played Shiny Toy Guns' "Le Disko," I went to the itunes Store to pick it up; the song had a few reviews claiming that it was totally a ripoff of Futon's "I Wanna Be Your Dog." At the time, I couldn't find any other place online with that complaint - my guess was that it was pointed at getting people to get the Futon song. Which I did, to compare. Eh, not very similar. Checking the dates, that electro cover might have come after Ascii.Disko's.
