Just out of curiosity, what do you use to play music under Linux?
I clicked on the link.. It wanted to open Totem Movie Player.. and I, of course, thought I was smarter than computer.. So I clicked cancel..
Pasted the url into "banshee", it said I didn't have a decoder for that file type.. WTF.. DECODE M3U? Fuck you. So then I tried another program.. it totally didn't error out.. but it also totally didn't do anything..
So then, I tried Totem, and it not only worked, but it plays pretty decent visuals.. So I guess that's a plus.
I usually get about halfway through a mixtape before totem craps out and I have to start again. I'm still looking for a proxy aware player that can either play or rip the stream for me.
It basically means Totem is a fairly typical linux video player. (Sorry to dig up the past Jamie.)
The closest I ever got to a decent music player on Linux was Quod Libet (it lets you create playlists using regexps and allows plug ins written in python so it's fairly extendable). You might also take a look at Rhythmbox or Amarok (Amarok is nice but it loads your system chock full of KDE libs - not a problem if you use KDE)
Some people seemed to think that the unusual interlude in the middle of that one song was actually a part of the song. I just wanted to put the blame where it belongs: yes, I rickrolled you.
I really like Robots in Disguise's "The Sex Has Made Me Stupid," Eon's "Spice" song seems to reference a KLF song though I'm not sure if it's intentional or just me, & even when I'm casually listening to the mixtape, the song with the rickroll makes me listen intently to the start of the song so that it doesn't catch me by surprise. Again.
No outrage, but thanks - this is a lot of completely-new-to-me stuff, and it's great. But one question: where do you find new music?
Mostly recommendations from friends, some recommendations from the Amazon AI. Digging through the SXSW torrents has been a source.
Kaba Modern and Jabbawockeez are related, - h8'n unrelated JWZ now legal on Myspace.
I'm enjoying this a lot!!!
I would also like to know where you find so much good music.
Propellerheads: Rickrollin' ten years ahead of everybody else.

I don't ever play music under Linux. There's your problem right there.
Good point.
After I posted this, I clicked the very obvious link "Problems? Read the FAQ." XMMS, installing now.
I swear they did teach me to read before typing!
Apologies if this is somewhere I've missed, but do you have the log files saying what people are using to listen to it (and with which OS)?
Update: Totem stopped updating it's display about 10 minutes ago. But the music still plays. I'm not sure what that means. :o

Argh, I've been Rick Rolled! :P
Since it's now been "leaked": there is something inherently wrong with the phrase, "rickrolled by jwz".
Aside from that, this and the last mixtape have been pretty high on the "awesome, must listen again" scale.
Put me down for one outrage :-)

Thanks! If only I could find it in non-postage-stamp resolution...
I'll keep an eye out for a better copy. By the way, via Suicide Bots, who you might like.
I think Myspace has a slightly better copy.
No, it's the same or worse.
