Not sure if you need the info still or not, but it's called the Adventures of Mark Twain. It's an awesome movie. I found it in the obscure VHS movie bin a long time ago. It finally made it's way to DVD not too long ago.
I love Will Vinton's Claymation. He did my dad's film Return To Oz - all the underground Nome King sequences. For years he was trying to make this all work and his stuff never really took off. But Nick Park's Aardman Animations sure did.

Who doen't love mark twain and pre-existential nihilism?
Saw this as a small child on the Disney channel of all places; shat bricks. I was very wary of Mark Twain for many years afterwards.
i think i've seen the mark twain version of Adam & Eve by these people...
CGI will never be as creepy as Claymation.
CG hasn't quite caught up in the melting skin department.
