About six months ago, I posted asking how to cut down on the paper spam I get (most especially the smirking goateed realtors). Several people recommended GreenDimes, and I signed up. You give them your info and $15, and they periodically re-unsubscribe you from various lists. And they plant some trees.
It seems to have been working very well!
Pretty much the only spam that hasn't stopped is AT&T ("Your World Delivered. To the NSA.")
I'll try them! Thanks!
Wait, what? The LazyWeb was useful? This upsets the delicate balance.
I must now correct it.
Holy crap someone took an already hilarious picture of a cat and put HILARIOUS TEXT ON IT
There should be a designation for this innovative comedic device.
Neat, I'll give that a shot.
Looks like they offer some kind of referral kickback... if there's a referral link they gave you maybe post that so they'll give you $5 when I sign up?
It looks like they only give a kickback if I were to hand them your email address, not if you were to give them mine. Eh, whatever.
Has it stopped the coupon sheets as well?
I never got those before.
Wow. I wish I was that lucky. I get 3 - 4 big bundles a week. They seem to be distributed by the local newspaper, and no matter what I do, they still come since the mailman just shoves one in each mailbox.
Where I live we have stickers saying 'no unaddressed commercial mail please', and that stops most of those. May not help much if the mailman isn't used to seeing them, but might be worth a try anyway?
Another benefit for those sharing living spaces: if your roommate signs up, they can put your name down as a co-resident (or whatever) and you get the benefits as well.
AT&T's telephone representatives claim they have a do-not-mail list. I asked for my address to be put on it, and after a month or so, I stopped getting their mailings.
good to know, thanks!
Thanks for the update! I just signed up!
