Return to your homes. The flying gimp has been destroyed.

Some guy is trying to sell a salvaged Boston Mooninite on eBay, but eBay has pulled it for "Encouraging Illegal Activity". It seems like every time I ever click an eBay link, the auction has already been pulled for some similar reason.

Also, Aqua Teen Hunger Force is a terrible and unfunny show.

Just what illegal activity is this encouraging? It is a bunch of LEDs in some plexiglass with a few batteries. I suppose selling a Lite-Brite also encourages the same illegal activity.

Maybe encouraging people to go out and steal LED signs and sell them on eBay? I would guess the unconfiscated signs were still the property of Turner, or the marketing firm.

I don't know - if I leave something laying around the city, I wouldn't consider it still my property. Apparently they didn't have permits and they weren't official advertising installations like a billboard. It seems like the old furniture people leave on the curb - no one (rational) considers it stolen if someone picks it up and takes it home.

Ugh, I live in Boston and 90% of the posts on my friends list these past three days has been nothing but Mooninites. It was funny for about an hour.

I thought about it and realized that I'm not as fascinated with this as everyone else in Boston because I never really liked Aqua Teen that much. I tried to think of what tv show "device" would make me more excited and I decided I would have liked to have seen Futurama lite-brites.

Oh, I think the show is crap, and I think every city -but- Boston reacted as they should have--with amusement, and surreptitious removal. Shame Boston officials are sticking to the "terrorist hoax" story--and even more of a shame that Turner apologized for their marketing/art.

The mayor just just doesn't want to admit that when someone, anyone litters, Boston cops get overtime.

I live very near Mt. Auburn Cemetery, so there are a number of funeral homes on my short commute to work. Normally, there aren't funerals on weekday mornings, but today was apparently an exception.

The funeral procession was accompanied by at least 8 officers: two motorcycle cops, two squad cars at the beginning and end of the procession, and a sport utility (I think from the county sheriff?) blocking traffic with one officer out directing the procession through one of Boston's many bizarro intersections.

On a related note, I've been trying to decide if Boston police like utility traffic duty. For the most part, they get to stand there and chat with the work crew; but on the other hand, it could be inclement weather, and the risk of getting clipped by a Boston driver makes it one of their more dangerous assignments. It is a pretty prevalent duty, given the number of always-open (and temporarily covered with metal plates) holes there are throughout Boston's road network.

          Yay infrastructure.

      Here's a clue: It's not about a TV show.

(looks sheepish) I kinda think it's funny.

Not as funny as Venture Brothers, but still funny.

  4. toonhead_npl says:

I think it's hilarious, and I don't even use drugs. (I'm not so keen on the news reports I see stating that it's basically a stoner cartoon.)

    • king_mob says:

      I also think it's hilarious...however, I've heard from...people...that it's funnier if you're stoned.

An episode I watched last summer was so funny it was essentially the peak moment of my life; it's all been downhill since then.

maybe jwz would enjoy it more if his portly stand-up-comic friend had shown up to his halloween party as carl. he even shaved carl's bald spot onto his head.

"someone wanna tell me why my pool is full of hot dog chunks and dirty dishes?"

    • fantasygoat says:

It's funny, but in a forced "oh we made this absurd joke because we know it's absurd and wacky" way. It's not really absurd, and thus just feels fake.

I guess my circuit board Halloween costume is right out.

Yes, Metalocalypse and Venture Bros. are much better.

I have never found that show particularly funny even though so many seemed to swear by it. Kit made me sit through it last night. It was still just boring to me.

I think the same people who like this, also enjoy the "comedy" of Jack Black...
