Galactica webisodes

So, apparently there are some new Battlestar Galactica shorts on scifi.com, but I can't get them to play. Dear Lazyweb, please convert them to Quicktime files and send them to me so that I don't have to fuck around with their stupid little Flash player.

Saw 3 of them and you're not missing much. Looks like fluff/filler.

  2. malokai says:

They're crap. I really wouldn't worry about it.

Your computer is saving you from yourself. Take it as a sign. The sign says "What are we going to do with all that fatally boring shit we cut?"

I'm going to spoil it for you.

Boy: I'm not going to fight for the resistance, because I love my wife.
    Wife: I love you, boy!
Writers: Fuck you, there is no happiness allowed in this show. Pow.
Boy: Alright, where do I sign up for the resistance?

I saw ripped copies on alt.binaries.battlestar-galactica. I didn't send them to you, but at least it's in the right direction.

Hey, whatever happened to the last lazyweb plea, about fixing Webalizer for beer? Did it get worked out & hidden? Inquiring minds want to know.

Must be nice to be an intarweb celebrity so that you can get minions to do work for you. :P

    • strspn says:

Eh. Us fanboys don't really care that much about jwz anymore, we're just trying to outdo all the other former lazywebber fanboys to look good in front of all the incredibly hot women which still hang around, too.

All of the current seven can be found as torrents on mininova (XviD). Try the Battlestar Galactica subcategory: http://www.mininova.org/sub/163/added

My sources tell me "According to Scifi's BSG website they'll be airing the webisodes on TV preceding the season premiere on October 6."

And fuck everyone who's saying they're shit. They're one-two minute bite sized things, but I'm *this* fucking close to going gay for Tigh over them.

    • dvicci says:

Amen! He was starting to grow on me there towards the end of the second season. Seemed to me he was starting to really grow a pair. BUT, come the between season webisodes, he's *really* come into his own. Is it me, or is an accent starting to come through more and more?

      • dvicci says:

Oh, and bsg-cz.net has them all. They're .avi, though... not Quicktime.

      • loosechanj says:

He may seem like a drunk ass loser most of the time, but give him a toaster to bash and the man knows just what to do. See "Valley of Darkness" for example.

(Just don't ask him to do anything else, like say take command of the fleet during times of political upheaval.)

        • dvicci says:

He has definitely found his element. No doubt about it. He's best when there are concrete physical foes. He can read them a lot better than the politics of command. I just wonder what Tyrol is talking about regarding some things you just don't do. Is it something Tigh's done, or are they talking about someone else? Ahh... the 6th is too far away!

          • loosechanj says:

That's actually Anders I think. And I'm pretty sure it's something Tigh suggests, cuz I know I've heard him say "we have no boundries".

          • strspn says:

"Collateral damage" ... "casualties" (how laid back!) you can tell from the anti-intensity of the euphamisims that it always has been, always will be, about killing the innocent when it comes to war.

            Personally, I'm against it. ;-)

            • dvicci says:

You are, of course, right and "right". I should have qualified my "concrete and physical" statement a bit more to include the concept of "good" vs. "evil" or "right" vs. "wrong" from his point of view. The situations you mention are colored and blurred by nasty and inconvenient grey areas that one doesn't have to bother with in a more simple kill or be killed scenario. The foes he faced weren't inhuman cylons, they were fellow colonists. Then again, life on New Caprica is likely to be colored and blurred quite a bit by the same issues... except this time, the foe is the cylons, instead of his own race. Regardless, I think it's fair to say he's learned from his experiences.

Ah, frak it. Kill 'em all! ;)

    You're not missing anything.

  14. etfb says:

tvtorrents.com is where I'm getting them via Bittorrent. They're not that bad. Obviously low-budget (no CGI at all, for example, so all the Cylon centurions do their stuff off-stage, Shakespeare stylee, but it's a worthwhile part of the story. It's not all sweetness and light and huge-breasted Borg babes, but that's what you get for letting someone talented do a scifi show.

Apple was nice enough to do that for you. Just download it from the iTunes store (free).
