Tonight is "Wear Bright Obnoxious Colors Day" at Death Guild.

baconmonkey says:

Apparently Midori is doing some sort of vampire fetish performance at Deathguild as part of some History Channel "Reenactment" of the supposed disappearance of a journalist in NYC investigating Vampire Covens.

So my thought is that as many people as possible should dress in bright colors, or totally dress as un-goth as possible, and then try to get in front of the camera as much as possible. I might be busting out a clown suit for this.

Shouldn't someone be posting an ad to lists about the killer rave happening tonight at the Glass Cat?

and still yet people are clamoring to be taken seriously at this event.

you are required to post a follow-up tomorrow.

  3. pfrank says:

that will be brilliant. Hopefully the bouncers won't turn people away for being dressed inappropriately.

    LOL! Now that's funny!

Well, my part is a small bit of back ground performance with some rope suspension to add to the general ambiance of the shoot. My thing isn't really vampire fetish, but some rope fun with a pretty gal. I presume the actual actors will be doing the vampire stuff. Beyond that I don't really know much. I just hope that there won't be too many cut/re-shoot as I don't want to tire out the person I'm suspending.
    :)

Given that the history channel's heavy use of WWII footage has earned it the nick-name "the hitler channel", please, please, please dress your bottom up in German Military garb.

So, why pick you for the show then?

It seems that they're taking advantage of you (and conversely, you of them, for the Media exposure.)

I just get the feeling that they're going to use shots of people in the club in an attempt to make the scene look bad.

      • baconmonkey says:

        that's why I'm wearing a clown suit.

I don't think they have agenda to make the scene look bad or good. They're just making a segment that will probably be 3 minutes long.
I suppose they picked me because I know Dave King of DG, and some of the crew on the show, and we all used to do the goth/industrial/fetish parties in the early 90's in SF and LA.

I'm a performer / lecturer by trade. This is what I do.
If they didn't pick me, they would have picked some other performer. *shrug*

Parachute pants, full "Parrothead" garb with hawaiian shirt and shorts, or Dockers and Christian T-shirts would all be good. Also those really huge foam cowboy hats.

Goth events, at least here in Toronto, are the only places that still enforce a dress code. Not sure if that's the same there.

I hope not because that's an awesome idea.

Completely off-topic, but you really, -really- need to see THIS.

Devo, reformed as a kiddie band. Witness DEV2.0.

The horror. The genius. I'm joypalled.

this is such a good idea...

I may have to make it out to DG because of this. Media Pranks are always worth it.

No to see if I actually own any non-black cloths and a jacket that fits that isn't my normal tSoM jacket.

I think I actually own a Looney-Toons tie, in bright colors - I think that needs to be worked in somehow...

  9. i think, for ONCE, i am actually JEALOUS that you get to go to DG.

    take pics!
