  1. Now you need to schedule some really cool Industrial, PowerNoise or IDM thing for when MacWorld is happening (Jan 8-14 would work for me).

  2. thanks for this!

see now, i just dismissed that friday event as a candy rave, because it looks just like all the flyers that end up in my bathroom after raves. actually, i think i may have found that one in particular there this month.

I saw Veruca Salt around 1997 and they were the loudest band I've ever seen. To give some gauge, with ears plugged (with paper), their music was clearly audible in the theater's downstairs bathroom, which was perhaps 80 horizontal feet from the speakers, through two closed heavy doors, and down a flight of stairs. I had seen other bands in the same venue, and nobody turned it up that loud. I am curious about whether they still play that loud.

Amen to that. I used to live right two doors down from the Newport during college (it's one of the larger venues in Columbus, Ohio; right across the street from the Ohio State campus), and they were so loud I could feel them rumbling from my living room. We're talking Spinal Tap volume levels here.

      "Spiderman 1979" ate my dingo.

...who's opening for Veruca Salt? Anyone?

('cos if The Lovemakers are, as they have been, I may have to drag my sorry butt out of the house, despite resolutions to economize)

i wonder if they will be doing a special turkey-themed meat.

The Scorpio Ball looks like its going to be an insane candyraver party. I wouldn't be suprised if people die of diabetes that night...
