  1. Gaaah, Billy Idol and Led Zeppelin! I'm experiencing massive cognitive dissonance! Actually, it's pretty cool.

I'm really impressed with the photos from this show too -- I think they're the best yet.

I seem to recall the same ridiculousness happening during the Reagan/Bush years. Lots of European metal bands, and the Pet Shop Boys coulndn't tour here because of stupid. Anbd I seem to recall they wanted to give John Renbourne, of Fairport Convention and Pentangle, a lifetime achievement Grammy or something and they wouldn't let him in. 'Cause those fingerstyle acoustic guitarists are a seditious bunch you know.

Big ups to goethe.de for pulling strings.
I already love them, and this is even more reason to love them.
They even have a radio show which runs locally on KUSF, and is also available online from their site.

Goethe Institut is a great organization and they are supposed to promote German cultural events. However, around here (Atlanta) if it's not an art film or a piano recital, they won't touch it**. I'm glad to hear that they helped out in this case.

** Of course, if I really cared all that much I guess I would actually get involved or something.

I read "Ninja/Storm show"... Nina Hagen is probably scarier than ninjas though.
