I thought the house [partially] financed other things. Things that you kinda, actually liked.

Wouldn't that make your relationship with House of the "For pay, and for nothing but the pay" variety? I'm barely hanging on financially, that doesn't mean I'm not getting paid for the horrible labor I sell...

Yeah, that's the theory. It doesn't actually work out that way in practice, though, because we've never actually gotten ahead of the debt curve. There is no surplus of cash to spend on fun things, let alone do something crazy like, oh, I don't know, actually repaying any of my investment.

We have done cool events -- but they've almost all broken even, not been financed by other events. That's because we only ever book cool events that we also think will break even, because we can't afford to do otherwise.

More sliding scale benefits for nonprofits with interesting guests (or at least video of them), please.

You're in San Francisco, not Morgantown.

Can I get a green tea with rice milk at the bar? Actually, I have no idea what that would taste like, but next time I'm around I'll call diet Arizona green with vanilla rice dream and hope I don't get hit with a coaster. Can I get that in a flute glass?
