It's that boiling frog analogy again, isn't it. Actually, if I'm not mistaken, someone already did an advert based on that, referring to the US socio-political climate.
Good point about policies. I'm sort of in the middle; our Brave Leader is happy to kowtow to Washington before he serves his own citizens, but we're still untrustworthy furrigners. It's that whole terrorism thing, I guess.
Living in the UK, I appear to be enjoying both of those policies at the same time.

i'm an expat currently residing in the south of france and i can tell you from personal experience that I have been 10 times less scared and paranoid since I moved here, than I was living in the US. my family seems to think that i'm in danger cuz i'm an american abroad but honestly at this point, i'm far more scared of my own government, I don't trust it one bit and it certainly doesn't represent my views or wishes so why should I live within its borders....
