Anyone got a tape of it they can lend me?
I only got to see the first 10 minutes of the first episode Firefly because of some fatass cud-chewers hitting a ball with a stick and jogging in circles. And it apparently isn't going to be on again any time soon.

d00d, it was so incredibly bad. I tried to watch it and then decided that working off the clock was a more useful time waster.
Think of those bad early 1950's westerns. . .
in space...
No. It wasn't even that good.
And to make things worse the follow-up "John Doe" seems to have possibilities, but is highly reminescent of "Touched by an Angel" and "JAG".
Um, and I caught that on the regular broadcast feed at 9:30. Did you try to watch it on cable or something?
I have Tivo. It was scheduled to start at 8:00, it actually started at almost 8:50. This was on the local SF Fox station, whatever that is.
Ok, so Firefly was exceptionally not good. I may try to catch a few more episodes, but it wasn't what I thought it would be. It may get better, I think it has potential. On the other hand, Baseball is the stupidest fucking sport on earth. As an aside the new show John Doe was fucking awesome. I dug it, full on.
The bit of Firefly I saw looked kind of iffy, but the first season of Buffy was almost intolerably awful too, and it shaped up, so I'll give it a chance. (Well, unless it's "Dark Angel" bad.)
I caught most of John Doe, and the first episode was ok, but it could really go either way. I can easilly see them screwing it up pretty badly. For example, Odyssey Five: decent pilot, incredibly stupid show.
damn everyone forgot. but then again everyone said it was good.
check the internet for files?
I think it shows promise.. I didn't like stng at first.. I thought the show was ok.. I might still have it on my tivo.. not sure.. remind me (if you don't find it elsewhere) and I'll check..
I just barely escaped your fate; had I not thought in passing to check on Firefly when I got home, I too would have been the proud owner of an hour and fifteen minutes of high quality, digitally encoded cud-chewing.
Fortunately, avoided that, and I have the episode. I can burn it to a DVD or VCD, if you like.
