MacOS X users:

The XScreenSaver collection is available below as a DMG containing all 200+ screen savers. They are universal binaries that will run on either PPC or Intel Macs. MacOS X 10.4.0 or newer is required (they will not work on 10.3 or older).

Source code is also available. To compile the MacOS version, you will need XCode 2.4.

X11 users:

XScreenSaver is included with almost all Unix systems running the X11 Window System. If you are using Linux or BSD, chances are you have it on your system already. If not, binaries can be found for most systems in RPM and Deb form. I strongly, strongly recommend that you install a binary package rather than compiling it yourself: it's a lot easier that way.

I distribute only source code for X11 systems. To compile the latest version of xscreensaver yourself, you'll need a working X11/GNOME development environment. If you have never tried to compile a GNOME program before... stop now. Install a binary release instead. Really.

Windows users:

There is no Windows version of xscreensaver, and there never will be. Please stop asking. Microsoft killed my company, and I hold a personal grudge. I don't use any Microsoft products and neither should you.
